This Privacy Policy explains how Guide4Caregivers, LLC (“Guide4Caregivers,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit or use www.Guide4Caregivers.com and any related pages, subdomains, membership areas, courses, webinars, and community features (collectively, the “Site” or “Services”).

This Privacy Policy is intended to be read together with our Terms of Service and any additional notices presented to you at the time we collect information.

Important: Guide4Caregivers provides educational content and resources for family caregivers. We are not a law firm, medical provider, or financial advisory service, and we do not provide legal, medical, or financial advice.

2) Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect:

  • through the Site and Services;
  • through our membership areas, course areas, and private community features (including any connected private groups or integrations);
  • through email, text, or other communications you have with us related to the Services;
  • through analytics, cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technologies.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to:

  • third-party websites or services you access via links from our Site (including affiliate links), which are governed by their own privacy policies; or
  • information processed by third parties acting as independent controllers (for example, a third-party social network when you use their platform).

Third-party platform terms and privacy policies. Portions of the Services may be delivered through third-party technology and infrastructure providers (for example, our CRM/email automation, membership, course, and community platform). In those cases, your use of those portions of the Services may also be subject to the third party’s applicable terms of service and privacy policy. We encourage you to review:

If you participate in a connected private Facebook group or other third-party community, your use of that platform is also governed by that platform’s terms and privacy policy.

3) Information We Collect

We collect information in three main ways: (a) information you provide, (b) information collected automatically, and (c) information from third parties.

3.1 Information You Provide

Depending on how you use the Site, you may provide:

  • Contact information (e.g., first and last name, email address, phone number).
  • Email opt-ins and free resource downloads (e.g., information you submit to receive newsletters, lead magnets, downloads, guides, worksheets, checklists, or other free content).
  • Account information (e.g., username, password, profile details, preferences).
  • Membership/course information (e.g., enrollment details, course progress, submissions, responses to prompts, attendance).
  • Community and interaction content (e.g., posts, comments, messages, uploads such as photos/videos, questions, and other content you share within the membership/community area or private community groups).
  • Customer support communications (e.g., emails, chat messages, intake details, and related communications).
  • Payment-related information for paid products or memberships (e.g., billing name and contact information and transaction details).

Payment processing (Stripe). Payments may be processed through a third-party payment processor such as Stripe (see https://stripe.com/). When you make a payment, your payment card information is typically collected and processed directly by Stripe (or our checkout provider using Stripe) and not stored by us on our own servers. We may receive limited information about your payment, such as confirmation of payment, subscription status, invoices/receipts, and other details necessary to provide the paid Services and support.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect:

  • Device and usage information (e.g., IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, date/time, clickstream).
  • Approximate location information (e.g., derived from IP address).
  • Cookie and tracking data (see Section 6).
3.3 Information from Third Parties

We collect information in three main ways: (a) information you provide, (b) information collected automatically, and (c) information from third parties.

  • Payment processors (e.g., Stripe) for transaction status, subscription management, and fraud prevention.
  • Analytics and advertising providers (e.g., Google Analytics and Meta/Facebook Pixel) to help measure Site performance and advertising effectiveness.
  • Platform/infrastructure providers used to deliver the Services. Our Site, course area, and community may be delivered through Kajabi infrastructure, and connected service providers used to operate the Site and Services.

We do not knowingly collect Sensitive Personal Information (as that term may be defined under certain laws) for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you. If you choose to share sensitive information in community areas, you do so voluntarily.

5) How We Use Information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

  • Provide and operate the Services (including account creation, login, membership/community features, course delivery, webinar registration and attendance, and support).
  • Communicate with you (including service messages, updates, confirmations, and responding to inquiries).
  • Send marketing and newsletters (including educational updates, interviews, announcements, and promotions). You can opt out as described in Section 7.
  • Process transactions (including managing subscriptions, payments, refunds, and invoices) through third-party payment processors.
  • Personalize and improve the Site (including analytics, measuring engagement, troubleshooting, and developing new content).
  • Maintain safety and integrity (including protecting against spam, fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access).
  • Enforce our policies and comply with legal obligations.

6) Legal Bases (Where Applicable)

Depending on your location and applicable law, we process personal information based on:

  • Contractual necessity (to provide the Services you request).
  • Legitimate interests (to operate, secure, and improve the Services; prevent fraud; and communicate with you about the Services).
  • Consent (for certain marketing communications and certain cookies/tracking technologies, where required).

7) Cookies, Pixels, Analytics, and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve the Site and to understand how visitors interact with our content.

7.3 Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because there is not a uniform industry standard for responding to DNT, we do not respond to DNT signals in a standardized way.

8) Marketing Communications

If you sign up for our email list, create an account, register for a webinar, or request a free resource, we may send you newsletters and promotional emails.

  • Opt-out: You can unsubscribe at any time by using the “unsubscribe” link in an email or contacting us at contact@Guide4Caregivers.com
  • Transactional messages: Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send you non-promotional messages related to your account, purchases, or Service updates.

9) How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share personal information in the following circumstances:

9.1 Service Providers

We share information with vendors who help us operate the Site and Services, such as:

  • hosting and platform providers;
  • CRM and email automation providers (including Kajabi infrastructure);
  • payment processors (e.g., Stripe);
  • analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics);
  • advertising measurement providers (e.g., Meta/Facebook Pixel);
  • webinar and communications tools;
  • customer support tools.

These service providers are permitted to use personal information only as necessary to provide services to us and in accordance with applicable contractual restrictions.

9.2 Community Features and User Content (Important)

The Site may allow you to participate in community features (for example, member profiles, posts, comments, messages, groups, and uploads), including within a private community area inside the membership and, if offered, a connected private Facebook group or other third-party community platform.

  • You control what you share. Any information you choose to share in community areas may be visible to other members or participants depending on the feature and your settings.
  • “Private” does not mean confidential. Community areas are intended for member interaction, but we cannot guarantee that other members will keep what you share confidential.
  • No sensitive information. Please do not post information you consider highly sensitive (including medical details, financial account numbers, or information you would not want shared).
  • Administration and moderation access. Site and community administrators may have access to community content for purposes of operating the Services, providing support, enforcing rules, and addressing safety, security, or legal issues.
  •   We may monitor, review, or remove content as described in our Terms of Service and community guidelines.

 If we offer or connect to a private Facebook group or other third-party community platform, content you post there is also subject to that platform’s policies and settings.

9.3 Affiliates and Business Transfers

We may share information with our affiliates (if any) for internal business purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy.

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, sale of assets, or transition of service, information may be disclosed as part of that transaction and transferred as a business asset.

9.4 Legal and Safety Disclosures

We may disclose information when we believe disclosure is necessary to:

  • comply with law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other legal process;
  • respond to lawful requests by public authorities;
  • protect the rights, property, and safety of Guide4Caregivers, our users, or others;
  • enforce our Terms of Service and investigate potential violations; or
  • detect, prevent, or address fraud or security issues.

10) Account Management, Cancellation, and Deletion

You may be able to cancel your membership or delete your account from within your logged-in account settings. If you cannot access your account or need assistance, contact us at contact@Guide4Caregivers.com.

If you request deletion, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify personal information, subject to:

  • information needed to complete transactions or provide the Services you requested;
  • information we must keep for legal, accounting, tax, or security purposes;
  • backups and archival systems that may retain information for a limited period.

11) Data Retention

We retain personal information as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide the Services;
  • maintain your account;
  • comply with legal obligations;
  • resolve disputes and enforce agreements; and
  • protect the safety and integrity of the Services.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and why it is collected.

12) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no security measure is perfect. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for any activity under your account.

13) Children’s Privacy

The membership platform and paid areas (if any) are not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts.

Children under 13 may be able to view certain public pages of the Site, but they should not submit personal information through the Site. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact us at contact@Guide4Caregivers.com  and we will take appropriate steps.

14) Sensitive Information and Health-Related Information

Our content is educational and may discuss caregiving, health conditions, or end-of-life planning. You should not submit sensitive medical information through public parts of the Site.

If you choose to share health-related or other sensitive information in community areas, you do so at your own discretion, and such information may be visible to others as described in Section 9.2.

15) Third-Party Links and Affiliate Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, products, or services, including affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may receive a commission.

 Third parties may collect information about you when you click a link or visit their website, including through cookies or similar technologies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services. Please review the third party’s privacy policy before providing your information.

16) International Users

The Services are offered from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate, and those jurisdictions may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

17) Your Privacy Rights

Privacy rights vary by jurisdiction. Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have the right to request:

  • access to personal information we hold about you;
  • correction of inaccurate information;
  • deletion of certain information;
  • information about disclosures or processing; and
  • opting out of certain processing.

17.1 U.S. State Privacy Laws

Certain U.S. state privacy laws may provide residents with additional rights. Where applicable, we will comply with applicable state law requirements.

17.2 California Privacy Notice (If Applicable)

If you are a California resident, you may have certain rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (CCPA/CPRA), including rights to access, delete, correct, and opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information in certain circumstances.

We do not sell personal information. Depending on how certain analytics/advertising tools operate, some data uses may be considered “sharing” under California law. Where applicable, we will provide required opt-out mechanisms.

18) Dispute Resolution

Any disputes related to privacy or data use will be resolved in accordance with the dispute resolution provisions in our Terms of Service (which may include mediation and/or arbitration).

19) Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top indicates when changes were made. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the updated Privacy Policy to the extent permitted by law.
